Going About Praying
Strongly Trusting And Not Doubting (our) Eternal Redeemer
“And I sought a man among them who should build up the wall and
stand in the gap before Me for the land,
that I should not destroy it, but I found none.” Ezekiel 22:30
Gap can be explained as a break in a line of military defense. Gap can also be a separation or difference between two people, two groups, or two nations. When someone dares to stand in the “gap” to attempt to reconcile them back together, he or she becomes an intercessor. The intercessor does not take thought of himself or herself, but stays focused on the end result of reconciliation.
It seems quite easy to stand between two people or two sides of conflict in the natural, because you can use reasoning and have understanding between the parties. Often it is much more difficult when a person becomes an intercessor in the spiritual realm. Many times we naturally don’t know exactly how to pray, but must rely upon God to direct us how to pray effectively. We cannot depend on our natural eye sight nor hearing, but we must trust God to know what type of prayer and fasting is needed in order for there to be victory. There is not only one kind of prayer or one kind of fast in the Bible. We must rely on God’s strategy, not our own.
Being an intercessor in the natural or in the spiritual can be a very lonely place. At times it may seem to be very unpopular, but the end results of healing and freedom are worth every minute of the fight. We must always remember that PRAYER AVAILS MUCH!
In the heat of the struggle and battle, we must know:
The greater the battle - the sweeter the VICTORY!
There is no power that can compare to God’s power. GOD IS STILL GOD!
It is in this hour that God is raising up the WOMAN who will hear His voice to cry out on the behalf of her family, her community, and her nation. He is seeking the WOMAN who will dare to STAND IN THE GAP and truly PUSH! PUSH to a WOMAN means endurance that no weightlifting competition, no sports competition or even the strongest endurance test can compare to. PUSH to a WOMAN means to use all of her strength in the midst of pain from the top of her head to the tip of her toes, to push and bear down in order to bring forth new life. She knows that the baby will die if she does not PUSH. It is that last PUSH that brings that wonderful blessing into her life.
PUSH in the spiritual realm means to Pray Until Something Happens. To PUSH means in the midst of the greatest attack, hardest pain, the meanest oppressor, and even the great disappointments – just give one more PUSH and don’t let up.
I believe that we find clear instructions from two verses in the book of Joel. “And the Lord utters His voice before His army, for His host is very great, and [they are] strong and powerful who execute [God’s] word. For the day of the Lord is great and very terrible, and who can endure it? Therefore, also now, says the Lord, turn and keep on coming to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning [until every hindrance is removed and the broken fellowship is restored].” (Joel 2:11, 12 AMP)
