The second week of August, I left on a trip to the center of this island for three
days and somehow never returned to this part of the web site – My blog.
The last three weeks of August I was filled and overflowing from very rich times with special people. My dear friend, Ruth Ann, drove her car and
we went together out on the other side of the world’s widest volcanic crater, Mt. Aso,
to do some interviews. Most people go to
see the main mountain peak where you can look down inside the crater. What is so interesting is that you don’t
realize why it would be considered the widest cauldron in the world – UNTIL you
visit the small museum, watch the videos and see the maps. We were not sightseeing this trip though.

Mt. Aso (,Aso-san)
is the largest active volcano in Japan, and is among the largest in the world. It stands in Kumamoto Prefecture, on the island of Kyūshū.
Its peak is 1592 meters ( above sea level. Its caldera is
25 km across north to south and 18 km across east to west. The
caldera has a circumference of around 120 km (75 miles), although sources vary
on the exact distance. The central cone
group of Aso consists of five peaks: Mt.
Neko, Mt.
Taka, Mt.
Naka, Mt.
Eboshi, and Mt. Kishima.
The highest point is the 1592 m of Mt. Taka.
The crater of Mt.
Naka, the west side of
which is accessible by road, contains an active volcano which continuously
emits smoke and has occasional eruptions.

We have several large volcanoes
on this island. Do you wonder why I live
each day ready to leave this world???
Smile! Between volcanoes,
earthquake and typhoons on these islands, I believe that I better be ready for
anything 24/7.
I met with some very special
women who I will be featuring on this web-site in the near future. One is an 88 year old woman who is pastoring
and in the process of building a new church building. Another one is 83 and she has been a
missionary in Japan
for almost 57 years. What stories that I heard
from those two ladies and others.
Upon returning back home, I went
head long for the next week and a half into finishing a book. I have been so excited about this book
because it is powerful since it is filled with the Word. I especially love it because it is very colorful and full
of pictures. Last Saturday I could finally shout, “IT’S FINISHED!” I was
ready to send it to a chosen few for proofreading, comments, criticism, BUT then we were not been able to send it by Internet.
We are sure that there is perhaps something simple that we are missing
in the process, but so far, it is still blocked.
Oh I know that the day is coming
when the office will be filled with staff that is needed for each step of
ministry such as photography, media – short ministry Podcasts, recording
and producing music, books to be finished and produced. For many, many years we
have spent most of the time in other countries and flying from country to
country. Now we are out in the Pacific Ocean literally on an island and yet He still has
us ministering throughout the world. I
stand in awe of Him! ! !
